Nelson Mandela said, “poverty is not natural, and overcoming it is not a gesture of charity, it is an act of justice”. The Eastern Cape reflects the lowest figures in the country for basic household amenities such as electricity and running water. It is impossible to turn a blind eye to the large proportion of our society affected by the injustices of poverty. The Trust has recognised that balancing the scales of injustice needs to start with awareness, education, and fostering a community spirit which says, “Let’s BE the change we want to see in the world.”
